The twin planet of Earth

I read with interest the information indicating that with some probability a planet had been discovered that could have life conditions very similar to those we have on Earth.

They have called it KOI-456.04 and it revolves around a sun similar to ours called Kepler 160.

It is reasonable that among the millions of millions of galaxies and planets that seem to exist, somewhere in the Universe could exist conditions similar to ours. It’s a posibility.

That is something that scientists may be interested in from a technical point of view, but for humble person like me it has very little practical interest, for a very simple reason: the distance it is from us.

According to those same researchers, this possible planet similar to ours would be 3,000 million light years away. So in practice it would be impossible to visit in either direction, at least with the physical limitations of time and space that we know today.

And if this is the closest planet similar to ours that we have been able to discover, the question that arises is: Why don’t we take better care of ours?

Because if we destroy ours, we have nowhere to go to live in a more or less comfortable way.

Those who talk about colonizing Mars and other places, is fine as a technological challenge, but not as a way of life.

The LIFE where we have it is here, and for what perishes here there is no other within a reasonable distance, then we had better take care of it. I would rather say pamper her.

Now that the weather is nice, all you have to do is look at the sky at night to have the perception that we are less than a speck of dust in the sky.

And within our planet we have been here since only a few thousand years ago, which is almost nothing. We are not its owners, we are guests who have arrived at the last minute and who behave arrogantly destroying what they have been given.

Today everyone talks about their rights and very few about their responsibilities. And both are sides of the same coin.

We cannot (and should not) destroy our planet at the whims of foolish children.
