The famous Apple car

They have been talking about the subject for years, about the possibility that Apple ends up making a car. The news appears and disappears from the media every so often and now it has reappeared again.

It is more than clear that Apple has dedicated resources to working on the subject for quite some time (it was called the Titan project) and they have generated a few patents on the matter. And although on some occasions they have withdrawn an important part of the people who worked on that project, they have maintained a team working on the issue of autonomous driving.

Elon Musk proposed a few years ago to sell Tesla to Apple and their president did not even want to meet with him to discuss the matter.

Building a car from scratch is a huge job that poses a huge risk, and if not ask Tesla. But on the other hand, the car is a place that can be a communication center and where all kinds of APPs can be installed for the use of those who circulate in it.

Although several images of the Apple car have appeared, no one has any idea what it would be like. All are speculations with a lot of imagination.

The recent news is that Apple is talking to some car manufacturers (like Hyundai) and that makes much more practical sense. Because Apple could collaborate with a car manufacturer of recognized experience and proven industrial capacity to develop a joint vehicle.

The risk for both parties is minimized and each contributes what they have the most experience with. One knows how to make cars, the other has experience in electronics and autonomous driving, and both know the world of batteries that is essential for electric cars.

Nobody knows for sure what will happen and everything is speculation to be able to write about something, as is my case, but it is natural that an innovative company like Apple is interested in a new type of product (the electric and also autonomous car) that is called to modify the way we move.

Time will tell us where everything goes.
