Other environmental deception of companies
Nowadays all companies try to sell themselves under the label of “green”, because they know that people like that, and in many cases, too many, they are simply deceiving potential customers.
One of the most commented cases has been that of the operator Ryanair, saying that it was the greenest airline, and encouraged people to fly with them. And all the information was based on lies and half truths.
The British authorities forced them to retract, which they did, but they had already succeeded in getting people to talk about them, which was the most important thing. They got very cheap advertising.
We must be very clear that in order not to pollute, you have to travel as little as possible, and if you do, better by train than by plane.
These types of deceptive messages, sometimes subliminal and most of the time shameless, are made by many companies in almost all areas of activity. And we must have a series of clear criteria so as not to be fooled.
Be clear that almost all of our activity generates a certain environmental impact, and this will be greater the more we consume and the less we recycle.
Companies now “sell” us the offset (carbon offset) they make to their carbon footprint, but it is largely a lie because planting trees alone cannot solve the problems they generate with their pollution. It is a way for all of us to calm our conscience, and continue with our absurd way of life.
It is somewhat better than nothing, but it is not a solution.
I am very skeptical on this topic, because it is a very complex problem that is being addressed with “patches” and “marketing”. And this is not how things are solved.
