It is the Lucid Air Company that has positioned itself in the segment of high-end electric cars, and they have been working on their products for almost 10 years, and finally expect to deliver their first units in the second part of this year.

This is the Model S, which is a large-size sedan with a range of more than 500 miles, which recharges in 20 minutes to move for an additional 300 miles, and has a power to reach 100 km / h in just 2 seconds, since its two electric motors provide it with more than 1,000 CV.

All electric cars have good acceleration capacity by consuming battery power, which is important only when speeding up.

The Lucid company has been on the verge of bankruptcy at times, but has received additional funding that has saved it. At least for now.

It is very difficult and very praiseworthy to start from scratch and they have built a new factory at a cost of 700 million dollars to manufacture their products.

If they finally put a product on the market it will be a great step forward, but that does not guarantee survival, since they have to sell many cars to stay in the market.

The average price of this car is around $ 130,000 and its competitors are the Jaguar I-Pace, the Porsche Taycan and many others (Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, etc …) that will be added shortly.

It is not an easy sector to stay in, as it has competitors with much greater industrial and economic capacity and who have a lot of experience in making good cars.

A curious feature of this car is that its roof is almost completely translucent as seen in the photo below, and that gives a great feeling of spaciousness.

And also the information and command console is made up of two large screens, as can also be seen in the previous photo.

It is definitely a modern and innovative car and its presence in the market is a milestone in the effort made by the people who work at Lucid.

Once that is recognized, in a few years it will be seen if they are able to stay in business. I wish them the best but I am clear that they have it very difficult. Of course Tesla didn’t have it easy either but there we have them.

As I sometimes comment in my reflections, a technological and industrial revolution is taking place in the automotive world that allows new companies to enter the market.

The future belongs to the daring ones.
