The generation of electricity without emitting CO2 is the basis of the new paradigm of electricity generation, and for this very different systems are used. I’ve been delighted to see Mainspring Energy do it in a whole new and sustainable way, and that’s what I want to share with you today.

This company has developed a technology that allows it to use different types of fuel (ammonia, hydrogen, etc…) to move a kind of linear motor that produces a variation of a magnetic field, which generates electricity. And most importantly, without generating CO2.

An explanatory video can be seen at: https://youtu.be/bSPRT1JAXj4

An important difference with other types of engines is that it works by compressing the fuel and without spark input. For the process to be efficient, compression must be carried out until the reaction of the fuel begins.

And depending on the fuel used, so is the compression that is applied. For example, hydrogen needs less pressure than ammonia. In the photo below you can see a motor with these characteristics installed near a building to provide electricity when needed.

This company has received more than 500 million dollars from investors, and has already delivered machines that provide 115 Kw to customers. And according to what they say they are working to achieve powers of the order of 1 Mw.

You can see the company website at: https://www.mainspringenergy.com/solutions/

As I said before, I think that this company has a very interesting idea, a very broad field of business, and it would not be surprising if it offered us more good news in the near future.

I am very pleased to be able to share with you positive technological news such as this company. I wish them the best.
