3D information

Today we can have almost any type of information in 3D.

From the “image” of a person, through a structure, an area of a land, a power transmission post, etc. virtually anything is feasible to be stored in 3D mode.

And also with extraordinary precision.

Telegrammetry means are used to generate this information, which is achieved by making multiple photos of the object in question that are then grouped on a computer, obtaining complete information about the object in space.

And the great advantage of having the information in that format (3D) is that you can perform any type of “operation” from it.

With the image of a person you can make a bust of that person with total precision.

With the image of a structure, it can be analyzed for cracks or other possible maintenance problems. And that information is very useful to be able to manufacture it with computer controlled media.

And so we could go on almost continuously.

On the other hand, today it is not conceived to design a product without using these tools. In this case, the 3D information is generated from the design of the drawings, and from there you can perform all kinds of analysis, fabrications and integrations with total and absolute precision.

Anything that is in nature can be stored in this way.

With which we can integrate a product in development with the reality that is going to surround him, before this occurs, and with that anticipation we can reduce the possible problems that could arise.

There are many companies that offer software that converts a set of photos into 3D models, and each time jobs of this type increase dramatically. Everyone can do it from a field that interests them.

It is estimated that each year users map more than 10 times the size of Switzerland.

The topographic surveys that I studied many years ago have gone down in history. Nowadays a drone travels the field taking pictures and with a later program can be available a very detailed information in a few minutes.

The work is done by a person with a device and the information he provides has nothing to do with that we had before. Qualities and costs are obtained at prices without competition with respect to traditional media.

And so the examples can be almost infinite.

Dear friends, 3D information is the new and almost unique way to store the physical data of everything around us. Although we don’t realize.
